What I find incredible is that it took four years to reach 10 billion tweets, but that was just 5 months ago.
Insane.
Incredible! Apparently within 10 days of creating a twitter account, The president of Venezuela attracted more that 250,000 followers, many of whom are raising questions about government and directly petitioning their president.
Of course I don’t believe it will make any huge amount of difference in real political terms, but the role of social networking sites is certainly adding an interesting dynamic to the public sphere.
